So, another quick recap as always (btw we are on our 12th week now๐๐):
1) Social computing
Social computing a.k.a social marketing
This week kinda interesting as we were discussing on marketing through social media.
Marketing through social media was first known/introduce during the evolution of Web 2.0. People start to converse and share their opinions through the internet and websites.
And we discuss what we observed on social marketing:
1. The power of tagging or hashtag. Visibility of any products is important. By creating a hashtag and tagging their products with other strong players in the social media contribute to making their product visible. Through these, people all around the world can narrowed their search for any product that they want. People can even found their dream job through tagging and hashtag may making them visible to their future employer.
2. The power of viral marketing. Viral marketing really2 contribute a lot to the marketing whether it is good or bad. A product can rise immediate and can also flop immediately once viral.
However, one thing for sure is the responsibilities of the seller or producer itself in marketing their product. Any products that trying to penetrate the market should have basic information especially food products. For example, the expiring date of the products. Many online food sellers failed to provide this information on their products and this may cause them to lose their potential customer. Legal actions can also be taken on the food products without the expiring date.
