#7 Lab Session

 Hi there!

Another quick recap for this week~~

So we were learning about chapter 5 & 6 this week, and it is all about e-commerce business:

1) E-commerce business

Type of business models (how you do your business):

-Online direct marketing

-Viral marketing

-Electronic tendering system [I really don't know it was honestly]

-Electronic marketplaces (Lazada, Shoppee, Alibaba)

-Online auctions (customer-to-customer business)

-Product customization

-Bartering online

-Deep discounters

-Membership

From all these, what did I know before this is just e-market places. Well, I do know about product customization, membership and auctions, but I never know that it was one of type for business models (new input save).

2) How things start for e-commerce??

Everythings start with a problem ➞ people try to find a solution ➞ innovation/evolution appears

[(ex. e-hailing: bus/taxi late/poor time management, expensive payment for taxi demand for faster time management and relevant payment for the distance covered - e-hailing (grab/uber dll)]

This what we called consumerisms, the power of consumers to demand solutions (what they need).

Whenever there's a demand, a new product will be produced.

Nowadays, everything on the fingertips. Business no longer only depend on the physical business, especially during this whole pandemic situations. We can expect more evolution in e-commerce if these situations worsen.

Well, we do learn 'theory of flow', though our lecturer didn't really explain what it was about. Overall, what it means is through internet marketing, it can increase awareness, increase visibility for business (basically, it's a feeder that feeds everyone with knowledge, from one side to another side of people) [people can seek information, learn, and spread it to others = a flow]

3) Electronic payment mechanisms

Everything is electronic nowadays! As usual, everyone knows what e-payment is. (virtual credit cards, smart card, bitcoins, shopeepay, alipay, e-card credit etc.).

How it works?

-Must be related to the bank. Once purchasing, the customer will pay to the merchant through the bank, bank process, payment sent to merchant through clearinghouse or merchant bank.

-If the transactions it too big, usually bank couldn't handle it. Thus, merchant were required to develop their own payment system (ex. alipayy- alibaba payment systems as their transaction is too high/frequent for bank to support, so that what might happen to shopee because they have their own shopeepay now)

I think that's all for today (kalau rajin nnti akan ditambah kemudian, mudah2an rajin tu sampai XD). See you next time. Adios!

But this week, we try to complete our website project and keep on updating our task with the company. And still struggling to finish the GDG online course (Good luck!).

That's it for this update, will be updated again for the next session. Adios!

#5 Lab Session

Hiii helloooo haluuu..

Another update (which I need to force myself to write this, I'm superrrrrr lazyyy)😩

First of all, this week were supposed to be our mid-sem break but we still have replacement class 😭😭😭

A quick recap on this week:

1) Internet Evolution Concept

Web 1.0:   First generation of the website (introduction and start of website)
majority users are consumers of content and personal web pages@website
Aims: only to provide information to the users
[content are fixed, pages are static]

Web 2.0:  Interactions in the website and the start of social media (people start to socializing
through website, people can communicate with the website such as commenting etc.)
                - end-users generated content/participative social web (ex. FB)
[permit users to respond within the website, dynamic content]

Web 3.0:  Utilization and interaction that upgrade 2.0. Allows world's information sharing
(the data isn't owned but shared), smart application in websites
[portable and personal, 3D graphics, connectivity, artificial intelligence/smart
                application]

Stages of internet evolution:
1. Providing information
2. Providing interaction
3. Building loyalty: interaction between users and website can build loyalty for that particular brand/company/etc.

media = internet

2) Database information

After the evolution of Web 3.0, the media has become intelligent (media/internet can suggest to the users what and how to do their task)

ex. bukak google, niat nk search documentation process, baru taip do..... kluar suggestion donut recipe, hmm rosak diet sketika πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

So how that this happen? because the media has recorded what you have search and look before and suggest to you the closest and the most similar to what you have input into the media.

Your data was saved and keep for future references (make your life easier). SIMPLE!

Recently we need to used google sheet for our submission (I never used it before.. ala2 excel gitu). So, everyone just used it in any way that we like, just put in the data with different fonts, formats and whatsoever (we contribute in letting the document become messy and unorganized haha). We never know that actually there's a feature for us to change the format so that it can be organized (new knowledge for sure). And another feature is that, any google documents/slides/sheet can be shared and access to at the same time (several people can edit it and it always been saved automatically every 5-10 minutes = artificial intelligence = web 3.0) kalau sebelum ni mana ada feature2 macam tu.

This development has allows people to share their information and the data can be saved faster and better.

Okayyyy. cukuplah setakat ni je dulu, see you again in next week update.

#4 Lab Session

 Hi there!

Coming back again with a new update for our Information System in Food Industry subject.

A quick recap on this week input,

(1) Definition of words/term (honestly, if Dr. Fareed never mentions about it, I would never care to know what it is defined as in information system). So, here for u guys to learn a bit about it:

  • Data: raw data with no meaning (ex. simple number 1023)
  • Information: data with meaning, data processed to be useful (ex. 1023 becoming a piece of information as student matric number)
  • Knowledge: raw data becomes in knowledge, application of data and information, becoming useful (ex. every time 1023 used in the application it will be recognized as a student matric number that holds the student information) = memorize
  • Understanding: a cognitive and analytical process, able to synthesize new knowledge from previously stored information and knowledge (ex. new data of 80 that hold information as English exam mark is inputted into 1023 and stored as the student mark) = learning
  • Wisdom: evaluated understanding, process to discern or judge between right or wrong (human uniquely state), understanding the fundamental principles embodied in the knowledge
Btw, this also represents how data evolve,

DATA ➞INFORMATION➞KNOWLEDGE➞WISDOM

(2) General Purpose of Technology (GPT)

  • GPT1: INTERNET EVOLUTION (changes things in a blink)
  • GPT2: NETWORK DEVELOPMENT (referring to the network and connection itself, ex. FB)
  • GPT3: INDIVIDUALISM (used for our own importance, there's a reason for our own importance behind the general reason
additional (for me own reference): stages of website/internet developing
- providing information ➞ providing interaction ➞ building loyalty

(3) Ethics in Corporate Environment

Responsibility (ex. student need to learn and score) Accountability (ex. if a student failed, why and who should be referring to?, lecturer need to hold accountability if a student failed) Liability (the state where legally responsible for something)

There are ethics in surfing the internet (do surfing internet with ethics and moral guys!)

There are a few categories of ethical issues regarding IT:

- Privacy and Security Issues

This may be one of the largest issues regarding IT. Privacy is the right to be left alone and be free from unreasonable personal intrusions. But still there are issues under privacy and security of personal information 😞. Users should be protected and allows to be used net freely (biasanya org genius lah yandg menyalahgunakan kepandaian mereka hmmmm)

"The technology of the internet is just TOOLS, what important is WHO handle the tools"

I think this might be the longest update ever. So that's all buhbye.

#3 Lab Session

Hi there, we meet again!

So, a bit talk about last week session (lmbt sangat pulak update kali ni😷),

So mingu lepas kami update untuk project CIP_UPM every group kpd dr. unfortunately untuk kumpulan kami, company tarik diri just a day before submission atas beberapa faktor yang tak dapat dielakkn (sedihlah jugak). Thus, we need to find new company as soon as possible before monday (which we made it!)

Our next move is now to develop a storyboard for the company website design (which I don't have any idea what it was😧). But, hey on the bright sides this is 100% gonna be new knowledge. I've never thought that I would be developing a website but here I manage to create my own website🎊🎊🎊 (well it just a very2 simple quick resume of mine but who cares).

Here the link to it:
https://nurfakhiramddaud.wixsite.com/mysite (this link is no longer available, I've posted the new link on the #9 update hehe😏)

And untuk super quick recap on what we learn last week is:

1. an information system in one of the important aspect of an organisation/company. An information system can help each department to interconnect with each other better. Data and document can be shared better and safer (if the company have good data security; can be developed).

2. Using information system to gains the competitive advantages in the business. Throughout the information system, the company would have advantages when they have a good understanding of their data. For instances, the company can always detect their production line information, If there are any slight defer in data, the company can always ready for maintenance.

3. Understanding information system and using it accordingly to the needs of the company can overall improve the company performance. A common mistake that happens in a company organisation is that they leave out one department from data update and sharing (biasanya antara R&D, Marketing lah kot) eventually this could make miscommunication to happen and may flop the company performance. THE MUST BE INTERACTION WITHIN ORGANIZATION.

Remember: IT IS IMPORTANT for EVERY DEPARTMENT to be INVOLVE in INFORMATION SYSTEM.

I think that all for this update. But before that, do know:

"The technology of the internet is just TOOLS, what important is WHO handle the tools"

If the person who handles the tools is bad, things would become bad. Take a moment to think, if the person who handles your data in the net is bad, won't all your private information be spread to the world?

See u guys again peeps!πŸ‘‹πŸ‘‹

#2 Lab Session

Hi again! Welcome back to another update on this subject🎊

A bit summarize to what we learned in this week;

(1) It takes times for innovation in the information system to be accepted and adopted in humans life. We learned about the diffusion of innovation theory by Rogers E. (1962), where he states that there are 2 stages of accepting innovation amongst people; which is adoption and implementation stages. Adoption stages is where the innovation been introduced to people and learn how to use it. Meanwhile, the implementation stage is where it depends on the people whether to continue using it or to stop.

For instances, when McD first introduced their self-service kiosk in their retailer to increase their ordering services; people take times to 'trust' the machine (I'm exactly like this bcoz I'm afraid of so many possibilities that could happen, what if it record my order wrong? what if my payment not been received??). There are so many complaints and review (adoption stage). Now, we can see.. though there are so many people in McD, some would use the 'automatic' kiosk while some would prefer the 'manual' counter (implementation stage).

(2) Google Digital Garage (GDG) - online google classes which will eventually give you certification for the classes that you joined [trust me, I have never known about this]. There are several online courses provided by Google and it is for FREE. The certificate can be used to improve your CV. One of the courses that we need to take is Fundamental of Digital Marketing. It's 40 hours courses (what?!) with 26 modules (like really?!). Quite scary if we just refer to this requirement, however, each of the modules was separated into small bites of video (around 15 minutes max per vids) and you can take it at your own pace (flexible!), as long you want to take the class you can take if. So, there is no need to spend 40 hours in a day. We can plan our own timeline. and what best is.... we can repeat the module for as many time that we want. Again, this thing is FREE and provided with CERTIFICATE!

I've registered!

(3) Wix.Com - It's a website where it allows you to build your own professional website. Just register with your Google account and you're ready to go. Explore it yourself!

I've just spent around 15 minutes here, it still looks complicated and complex but will definitely try it again

I've tried my best but it still looking quite complex for me bcoz there are soooooo many things to explore and used. So many templates to used that it makes me want to try everything😏 Btw, our new assignment requires us to build our own Wix professional CV (wish me luck!).

So that's it. Enough for this post. Gonna continue it again in the next few daysπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

#1 Lab Session

Finally an update!!

Setelah sekian lama menyepi dan terbiar, akhirnya terisi jugak blog ni πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Actually, I've been waiting to write... however, as usual, the laziness took over me dan harapan nak menulis hanya tinggl harapan πŸ˜…

But now, writing a blog update is AN ASSIGNMENT hahaha so whatever it is, I need to write 😏

So, to talk about the lab session 1.. hmmmmmmm...

Kalau ikutkan minggu ni dah minggu ke 4 kuliah tp lab baru kali pertama (lama kami tggu dr.fareed pnya lab πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚)

Information system in food industry (fokus subjek utk post ni) is a very interesting subject. Kalau nk ikutkan, pada awalnya kalau dengar je orang sebut psl information system... all I could imagine is the 1's and 0's or coding whatsoever (sbb my adik budak IT) so, it scared me a lot. tp setakat ni, tak ada pulak lah smpai perlu nk coding pebagai (fuhhh selamattt)

To summarize this new subject in one sentences:

'The world is flat'

I've heard this before but never care to know what it means by this, but throughout this class, I understand that we really can consider that the world is flat where up to one point that it scared me. Everyone in the world can know just almost about everything they want to know. Open-source information a.k.a internet, there are pros and cons to this.

Since I am going to be involved in the food industry (well it goes the same to any industry), the information system should not be taken lightly.

2. Dalam masa yg sama, dr.fareed share yg sebenarnya beberapa webinar/online courses untuk mcm2 google certificate and it is for free! (and I didn't even know bout thisπŸ˜”)

3. Introduction to Community Internet Project (CIP-UPM), contohnya FoodClicks yg kami hnya guna dan lihat msa pendaftaran sem 1 (since I'm quite active so I've seen it for a few more time sbb tolong student2 baru mendaftar XDDD) Benda ni bnyk potensi cuma tak digunakan sehabis baik je.

Cukuplah setakat ni je. Akan disambung untuk update seterusnya 😏😏😏😏

All I can say is that this subject gonna be fun and difficult at the same time hahaha. πŸ‘€
